Course Outline

The course content in the Economics HL course is the same as that of the SL course with the addition of several extension topics in each section of the syllabus.

The final grade comprises an external component of 80 percent and an internal component of 20 percent. The internal component (20 percent) requires students to complete a portfolio which includes three commentaries on articles based on different sections of the syllabus, from published news media.  The external component (80 percent) is a final examination which consists of two papers made up of extended and data response questions from each section of the syllabus and one extension paper on all syllabus content.
