Students in Mathematics 4 explore the following topics:

  • place value to two decimal places
  • fractions of a whole 
  • the relationship between decimals and fractions
  • multiplication facts to 9x9 and related division
  • multiplication of 1-, 2-, and 3-digit numbers by a 1-digit number
  • division by a single digit number where there is no remainder
  • patterns in tables, charts and diagrams
  • extending patterns
  • solving 1-step equations
  • symmetry in 2-D shapes
  • prisms
  • area of 2-D shapes
  • bar graphs and pictographs
