Mathématiques 6e année (Mathematics 6)

Students in Mathematics 6 explore the following topics: 

  • numbers over one million
  • decimal numbers to the fourth decimal place
  • negative numbers
  • multiplication and division of decimal numbers
  • order of operations
  • improper fractions and mixed numbers (e.g. 73 = 2 ⅓)
  • ratios
  • percentages (25%, 50%, 75% and 100%)
  • tables of values and graphs
  • using letters to describe relationships and equations
  • balancing equations
  • formulas for perimeter, area and volume
  • reference angles (45°, 90° and 180°)
  • interior angles of triangles and quadrilaterals
  • ordered pairs including plotting, line graphs, and transformations of 2-D shapes
  • discrete and continuous data
  • data collection methods
  • theoretical and experimental probabilities.
