Mathématiques 3e année (Mathematics 3)

Students in Mathematics 3 explore the following topics: 

  • understanding of numbers up to 1000
  • place value (ones, tens, and hundreds)
  • fractions of one whole
  • adding and subtracting 1-, 2-, and 3-digit numbers
  • introduction to multiplication and division
  • repeating, increasing (growing), and decreasing (shrinking) patterns
  • equality and inequality, using symbols (= and ≠)
  • representing an unknown in an equation (using symbols or shapes)
  • relationships between units of time
  • length and mass in standard units (centimetres, metres, grams and kilograms)
  • perimeter
  • names of 2-D shapes 
  • names of 3-D objects 
  • data collection, organisation and display (bar graphs)
